Communication Lab: Summer 2019

Communication is one of the most essential human activities. Despite engaging in it every day however, all the various ways we communicate can be fraught with difficulty. This can range from difficult or uncomfortable conversations, to serious miscommunication that undermines hard work and disrupts relationships. Have you ever found yourself:

  • Working around someone because their way of thinking stifled creativity, or slowed down progress when working on a team?
  • Noticing in a conversation either you or the other person has stopped listening or lost track of what is being said, then had to scramble to catch up?
  • Stumbling over your words out of concern for how you will be perceived, or been challenged with how to connect with different generations or people of different backgrounds?

Our Communication Lab breaks down good communication to its essential characteristics, helping you move beyond the misunderstandings that can accompany the bare mechanics of information transfer, to a practice of listening, discovering and creating. You’ll walk away with a new understanding of what your relationships are about, and how to communicate within them for a thriving life.
